Tell us about your journey

"Where are you from?", such a simple question but one that has always had a bigger story behind it for me. I was born in Bologna and, due to the nature of my parents' job, we found ourselves moving to Tunis, when I was just a few months old. This was my starting point for a long journey of living and studying abroad for over 17 years. Having spent 4 years in Congo, 3 in Nigeria, 1 in Iran, 5 in Egypt, and 1 in Spain, I believe that these experiences have moulded me into the person I am today. I have a flexible mindset, always open to change, and a multicultural background. After high school, I went back to live in Italy, in Milan, where I did a master’s in business and management and finally found a place where I lived for 7 straight years, a personal best!! I began my career in a financial advisory firm, where I stayed for a year, before pursuing a career as a financial controller at Salini Impregilo. The constant desire to learn and the need to get out of my comfort zone, together with a passion for finance led me to accept a new adventure within the Atlantia Finance team, and guess what?... Rome, another city to add to the list of places I call home!

What does your work bring you?

My work, along with all my colleagues, has given me something that I have been chasing since my very first day of work: waking up in the morning and feeling happy, feeling I'm doing exactly what I wanted to do. This may sound simple, but is something that has always been very important to me.

What do you bring to Atlantia?

Passion, enthusiasm, and determination. I am a result-oriented guy and I am proud to put all my experience and knowledge at the service of Atlantia and to help my colleagues achieve their goals. In addition to my work experience, I bring a multicultural perspective and approach to Atlantia that I believe to be one of the keys to success.

What does Atlantia represent for you?

Atlantia represents an innovative and modern company. A company that is changing skin quickly, by focusing on sustainability, mobility, and above all by putting people at the center of the project, something I find very endearing.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced during your time with the company?

The most testing challenge that I’ve faced was being able to manage and meet the expectations of the top management and successfully carry out all the new activities that came with the new role and all this had to be done in a short time.

What is your biggest achievement in this role?

I hope that the biggest achievements are the ones that are in the pipeline. As a planner, I am more focused on what we need to achieve in the future rather than reflecting on our past successes. My life at Atlantia has been consistently challenging and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to achieve so much from a business perspective. However, if I had to choose just one thing, hands down, it would be the attitude and effort I have put in for my work to be recognised and positively acknowledged by the top management.

What advice would you give to university students or young professionals thinking about a career in your area?

Financial planning is not just about numbers, it's about preparing for the unexpected so that you can be ready for what ever comes around the corner. Find something you're passionate about and be curious. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and always set new challenges, suited to your potential. In the early years, try to learn as much as possible and always be humble. Be responsible and trustworthy, this is something that will always be appreciated and something everyone is looking for in a colleague.

Where do you see Atlantia and yourself in 5 years?

I see Atlantia as a top-level company, leader in the mobility and infrastructure sector. A place where diversity and inclusion will still be a hallmark. In 5 years' time I imagine myself to still being curious, always looking for new challenges and I hope to be an example for younger colleagues.
