Sustainability: Atlantia rated among global leaders by Moody’s ESG

05 October 2022

CET 15.26 Rome, 5 October 2022. The global rating agency, Moody’s ESG, which specialises in rating the environmental, social and governance practices of leading companies operating in different economic sectors, has assigned Atlantia the highest possible rating, “Advanced”. This places the Company in the top 1% of leading global companies out of a total of approximately 5,000 rated. Atlantia also ranks in the top three companies with the best ESG performance in the transport sector. The marked improvement in the rating reflects the progress made in terms of environmental and social sustainability and our business model, in addition to our performance and the quality of our governance. In 2022, Atlantia has been leading the way in Italy in the transparent planning of initiatives to combat climate change, putting the Company’s decarbonisation plan, which aims to achieve zero direct carbon emissions by 2040, to a “Say on Climate” shareholder vote. Over 98% of shareholders voted in favour of the plan, the highest level of approval recorded by any annual general meeting in Europe that voted on this matter in the same period. Our commitment to transparency and responsibility was also recently confirmed by the independent Fair Tax Foundation, with Atlantia becoming the first Italian company to be awarded a Fair Tax Mark for tax transparency, considered the gold standard of responsible tax conduct, and by Transparency International, which has included the holding company in its Business Integrity Forum following an in-depth assessment. The rating from Moody’s is further important confirmation of the assessments published over the year by the main ESG rating agencies. Atlantia has also received top-notch ratings from MSCI ESG ratings (AA – industry leader), FTSE4Good (in the top 5% in the sector), ISS Quality Score (top scores across all aspects of ESG), Refinitiv (in the top 3% in the sector), Sustainalytics (awarded a “negligible” ESG risk rating), the GLIO/GRESB index (the highest rating, A). 2022 also saw the Company included for the first time in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, reflecting our constant commitment to gender equality.
