SeaStar TLPs for Ultra-Deepwater

A new development from Atlantia extends the SeaStar TLPs depth capability to 10,000 ft, making it the most economical structure for dry-tree production from ultra-deepwater fields.

The new development is remarkably simple and innovative: water-column oscillators are added to the SeaStar hull. These completely passive devices effectively eliminate wave-induced resonant motions and thereby reduce tension and stresses in the tubular tendons. Since tendon walls can now be made thinner, tendon cost is dramatically lowered and is no longer a limiting factor in deeper waters.
